Week 12

 About the textures and UV transferring 


Sala finished fixing the textures and I need to help with UV transferring. I once again opened up the trusty ZooTools, they included a UV transfer in their toolkit which is brilliant to work with in comparison with using Transfer Attributes in Maya, which was really laggy and barely usable to animate.

Simply select the mesh with the correct UV, and select the mesh you wish to transfer to. ZooTools does everything in one click and Maya still operates buttery smooth.


Weirdly the UV for the claws didn't transfer properly and I resolved to unwrap it again and fix the UVs

Render Test




When I did a render test for the textures. There appears to be some problem with the height/normal map because some of the shadow looks weird. 




I asked Sala for the Substance file and do seems to be the height map issue. So I asked her to try and fix it. If the problem still occurs, we might have to disable the height map in our renderings.


We aim to get everything sorted around the weekends and hop straight into rendering next week. It's a rather tight schedule but I think we'll be alright with the deadline.
