Week 10
Linear pass & changing shotcams
Made some changes with Dr. Kennedy's advice on storytelling.
Added a camera shot before the initial opening shot to reveal more interior, which helps with establishing the environment
Changing the chair throwing shot to walking and turning towards the camera to better transition from the table jumping scene
Editing some of the playblasts to find the suitable rhythm
Weekly Report
Dr. Kennedy had no problem with the blocking pass, so most suggestions were meant for camera angle improvements to clarify the storytelling, e.g. showing more environment in the establishing shot, so Dr. Kennedy suggested adding an extra camera showing the classroom interior + intruder opening the door and then cutting the current opening shot.
Furthermore, Dr. Kennedy really likes the parkour scene and would like to see more build-up before the shot. He suggests changing the "spray can stopping" scene to "spray can throw pass/beside Mrs. Wrinkles". Putting more time into building up the floating chairs and tables.
I might cut out the chair-throwing shot and probably the first-person view as well, this way other camera shots would have more breathing space. I changed the cat sitting scene to it turning its body around to face the camera, it looks more natural when transitioning from the last camera angle.
